JuicyAds Advertising 101: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which Payment Methods do you Accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and ePassporte. Sorry, no Paypal, due to their terms of service.

Q: How much should I charge for my ads?
We get many questions about ad prices. Because you are in full control over the type, number, and price of your ads it can sometimes get tricky. Generally, if you want to continually sell ads, you need to give a buyer what they paid for (or more) and keep them happy. Therefore, its always best to start your prices low and raise them later as demand increases.

Every website is different so its impossible to just tell you what to charge -- some sites have very good clicks to ads and some websites don't drive clicks to advertisments very well. In the many years I have been selling traffic, our buyers have found good value in traffic sold at less than 1-3¢ per click.

But, if you have just added your ad zone, how do you know how many clicks it will get? Well, you don't until it has been running a couple days. So, good rule of thumb is that any ad should attract at least 1-3% of the visiting surfers who will click the ad, whereas better placed and larger ads can attract significantly higher than that.

The JuicyAds secret formulas are:
Low Price:
Site Traffic (daily uniques) x 0.01 (1.0%) x 0.01¢ (1¢) = Ad Price (per day)
(example: 10,000 uniques x 0.01 x 0.01 = $1.00/day ($30.00/month)

High Price:
Site Traffic (daily uniques) x 0.03 (3.0%) x 0.03¢ (3¢) = Ad Price (per day)
(example: 10,000 uniques x 0.03 x 0.03 = $9.00/day ($270.00/month)

Once the ad zone has been running, you will see how clicky the zone is and can adjust your prices accordingly.

Q: When does my website show up on your network?
Your site will appear on the website once the stats are available, so it collects for ONE full day (impressions and clicks) then displays on the website.

Q: How and when do I get paid?
We currently pay via ePassporte and check. If you do not have an ePassporte account, click here and signup.

Payments for sold advertising space are paid to your account after the full duration of the advertisment has been delivered. For example, a payment for a 14-day two week ad placed on your website will be paid to your account on the 15th day.

You must request a payment once your balance exceeds the minimum payment.

Q: How much does JuicyAds cost? What is your commission?
JuicyAds is FREE to use, we only take commission only when you actually sell an ad. Our base commission is 25% which includes customer service for your clients, payment processing, ad bandwidth, and much more. If you have high traffic websites or high priced ads, our commission rate is negotiable. Just contact us to discuss.

As of December 2007, our rates match (or are better) than those you'll find at AdBrite, BlackLabelAds, AVNAds and Etology.
If you are concerned about our commission rates, you can always increase your prices slightly to cover the fees.

Q: Do you sell ads per click? (PPC)
No. Selling per-click ads always leads to click-fraud. We only sell time and space on websites, and remove those that prove to be dishonest or otherwise unreputable.

Q: Is there a way to encourage people to buy my ads?
Yes. You can add "Your Add Here" to your AdZones (its an option when you create or edit it). You can also place a link to JuicyAds.com on your webmaster page, or place a simple "Advertising" textlink on your website pointing to your website's advertising profile:
Example: DrunkChix.com's Profile: http://www.juicyads.com/juicysites.php?id=16

Q: Why are my traffic numbers show lower on JuicyAds than my own stats program?
Our ads are delivered in an iFrame and sometimes surfers close the window quicker than the iframe can load. This causes our counter script not to count the hit, and causes the discrepency. Clicks on the other hand are forced to run through a counter before the hit is delivered, so clicks are always counted properly.

Q: What happens if a publisher doesn't like my ad?
When you buy an ad on a website, the publisher (owner) has the ability to reject your ad and remove any part that they do not approve, or is against their rules, or the rules here at JuicyAds. If your ad is rejected, just log into your account and submit new information. That may include your advertisment's URL, image, or text.
