Adsistant® Auto-bid and Competitive View Tutorial

As part of our Adsistant® suite of campaign optimization tools, our new Auto-bid function allows CPC and CPM banner advertisers to see where their bid stacks up against other bidders and adjust automatically.

To use the new tool, simply set up your banner campaign, add any targeting options as well as target countries, and go to the ‘Settings’ section. Under ‘Campaign Bid,’ you will see an option for Adsistant® Auto-bid on the left and the Competitive View on the right.

The Competitive View shows you a leader-board style list of bids you are competing with as well as eCPM and CTR (Click though ratio.) Unlike CPM bidding, which involves a direct fixed bid and placement, CPC campaigns on the platform algorithmically optimize placement by considering both the advertiser’s bid and banner CTR. Lower-CTR banners therefore require higher bids to get the same rotation as high-performing banners.

Advertisers can use the ‘Cheat Sheet’ on the page to determine what they need to bid to reach their desired position, or they can activate the Auto-bid feature by setting the Target Position and the Maximum Bid. The system will then move the bid up and down to reach that position, within the set maximum bid.

For example, below you will see the advertiser has set their target position to 5, with a maximum bid of $0.04 CPC. The Auto-bid function will increase or decrease the bid based on competitor bids and overall CTR, to ensure the optimum bid is set.

To turn off the auto-bid function, just set the Target Position back to ‘Off’ and your campaign will revert back to manual bidding.
